Here’s this week’s question: Is there a song that reminds you of a book? Or vice versa? What is the song & the book?
Honestly, I can't think of any songs that remind me of a book. I don't connect music to books, even while I'm reading. I usually read in quiet. I love music, but whenever I'm reading it becomes a distraction.
How about you? Do you connect songs to books? Do you read to music or read in silence?
Thank you to everyone who stopped by. And don't forget to leave your link in the comments section below so I can follow back!

Yay! I wasn't able to answer the question either. I don't think of putting songs to books as well. But I did think of a song that I think could be added nicely to a book soundtrack or something, I just wasn't able to think of a book!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Follow Friday

The question for this week is a hard one! :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by and do have a wonderful weekend too!
This was a hard question! I'm in the same boat as you. My connection comes prior to the book, and that's usually from the movie trailer if anything.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF! I followed you back via GFC.

I can actually listen to music while reading, as long as it's a song i'm already familiar with then it becomes background mood setter.

Ah! It'll be harder for me to concentrate if I'm reading with a familiar song playing in the background. :(
DeleteThanks for stopping by! :)
I'm with Shane. New songs, especially ones I start liking distract me cause I'll end up putting my whole concentration on the song instead.

Nyx @ Unraveling Words
Haha! Old ones distracts me more. Sometimes I find myself singing along when reading.
DeleteThanks for following.
I like to read while I am reading, in fact I think I cannot read without music x) but I think is a very personal choice

Reading to music doesn't work for me no matter how hard I try not to be distracted. I'm glad it works for you.
DeleteThanks for stopping by. Do have a wonderful weekend! :)
Music and stories go hand in hand with me. I do like the quiet when I can manage it, but a song will come on and I'll put pictures to it, not based on the words either. I have discovered I hate a big musical score in movies during kissing scenes. I think the only time there's no music in my head when I'm reading is during a close scene.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could combine both, but I can't. They're two things I like very much, but which I can't merge to work hand in hand. So I keep them apart always.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and do have a great weekend! :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog! :) I'm a new follower via bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteMusic is a distraction to me as well when I read. I start to sing along and forget about reading if I listen to music.
We're on the same boat, Jenni. :)
DeleteThanks for following. Hope you enjoy the posts here! :)
Hopping through. I usually read in quiet too. It depends on how much I need to concentrate. Or if there's a lot of background noise, I'll turn on music.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
I actually prefer background noise to music. I can read in a mall filled with people without getting distracted. :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by! :)
I couldn't think of anything for this answer either. The difference between us though is I AM listening to music while reading, I just think about them separately and if I do make a connection, I promptly forget about it. Thanks for stopping by my F&FF. Old follower.

ReplyDeleteFollowing back, thanks :)
You're welcome, Reem. Thanks for following back! :) I hop you enjoy the posts here.
DeleteHave a great weekend! :)
I feel yeah I usually dont listen to music when I read and the only reason I got My FF was because i listened to the song on the radio just before I finished the book. lol its easier to use music to write your own book then it is to pair it with a book you read.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following me. I'm following you back on GFC.
Haha! I can't even write to music. I still get distracted by it.
DeleteThanks for following! Have a wonderful weekend! :)
I'm a quiet reader as well...to adhd for any distractions:) That's why mine song is actually a party of the movie... Thanks for stopping by and following:)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Bethany. Thanks for following too.

You're welcome, Aman. Thanks for following too! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading! :)
I used to prefer to read in quiet, but lately I've found having a bit of music in the background - nothing intrusive, is quite nice for me.
ReplyDeleteDepends on my mood and location though really.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. :D
You're welcome. Thanks for dropping by! :)
DeleteHi, Kaykay! I don't do this either. I prefer to read in silence. I love music, too, so if I listen to music while reading, then I'll want to sing along! I like to 'climb' into a book and stay there for the duration without interruptions. :)

Thanks,

I like that! :) We're on the same boat.

You're very welcome, and thanks for stopping over at mine yesterday! Have a super day.
DeleteYou're welcome! :) I hope you have an awesome week.
DeleteI like to read in the quiet as well. I do however sometimes when I am listening to a song later on will be reminded of a book. Most of the time it's something about the book like the plot, character, or couple not the whole book itself.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog btw, and an old follower :)

Thanks for stopping by, Amanda. :)
DeleteHave a great weekend!
I like both of them. Sometimes I read in quiet but most of the times I like to listen to music, usually acoustic and I try to find a sift one to don't distract me.
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back via Bloglovin! :)
That's nice. Thanks for following. I hope you enjoy the posts here. :)
DeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
I have to have background noise. It is very rare that I sit in complete silence. I am actually distracted by silence. Following you back and thanks so much for stopping by me blog
ReplyDeleteI just tone out whatever background noise is happening so this was a tough question for me this week! Thanks for stopping by Love.Life.Read. New Follower via Bloglovin'

DeleteI don't normally connect songs to books but sometimes I'll think of a scene in a book that reminds me of a song or vice versa. It doesn't happen often though! I also read in the quiet :)

Yeah, it's a tough question. And song-book connections happen rarely but it's precious when they do. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Following back via GFC :)
ReplyDeleteTough question indeed. Haha. :) Thanks for following! :)
DeleteI hope you have a great weekend!
Yes, I agree. It can be a distraction but for me sometimes is helping. I can't really explain it but some songs help me read and write. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF the other day.
You're welcome, Athina. I'm glad music works for you. :)
DeleteI hope you have a great week! :)
I think I can read with music in the background, because I get so focused on the book that I don't think about the music. But, I often read in quiet. Of course, there is almost always some song playing in my head, so I can't really escape the whole music thing. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog this week! Following you on GFC and Bloglovin.
Music distracts me anytime, but I'm glad it works for you. :)
DeleteThanks for following.
Thanks for dropping by my FF! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's okay. We all have different preferences anyway. ;)

Thanks for stopping by my FF :) And nah, I can't read and listen to music at the same time either, I find it distracting. Anyway, I love how songs - like books - tell a story and there are several ones that I like more because of the lyrics than the actual music :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the follow :D
