Feature and Follow #3

Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community. If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers. But you have to know, the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me. This is my second Feature and Follow, and general the rules are:

·  Follow the Feature and Follow Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
·  Follow the Featured Bloggers
·  Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
·  Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
·  Follow Follow Follow as many as you can. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
·  If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers. Thanks!!

Here’s this week’s question: Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you've done, that as you gained more experience you were like -- oops?

Well, my first blogging mistake was creating The Creative Forum without actually having anything in mind to blog about. Like I said in one of my earlier posts, Writing and Book Blogging, A New World, a part of me did that because I thought it was cool to say, “Hey, could you visit my website?”

Now I know what I want to blog about: writing, books, and I love making friends with other bloggers, writing my thoughts on each book I read, and doing fun memes like this one.

How about you?

Thank you to everyone who stopped by. And don't forget to leave your link in the comments section below!

  1. Yeah, I've made a few of my own memes cause I thought it was a great idea at the time. And then I rarely use them now. I like to read discussion posts but I'm so bad at writing my own. /sigh

  5. Hi,

That is an interesting answer, but I'm glad you found your reason now! My reason to create a blog was so that I can get ARCs from authors as I heard blogging is one of the way, but I found out that there is so much more to blogging than that! I love the community. Another blogging mistake :p

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I love your blog too! New follower via GFC and Twitter.

  6. When it comes to blogging it's okay to go in and change your vision plan. Book blogging is difficult because for every blog like yours there are five others that are similar and it's hard to stand out. Some bloggers think that they are the first to offer music playlists for books or recipes, etc when they aren't. I've thought of a meme, but then I don't know if I could actually keep up with it, etc. Right now I have a hard time picking a day to post a painting (I like to pick an old artist and showcase one of their paintings) or film friday (where you can discuss a film you just saw, etc).

  8. With time our blogs tend to take a direction even if we don't try. Because our interests will fall in some areas and we'll manifest as such. Writing and books is a fab direction and you'll meet lots and lots of great people who do book blogging. It's most likely the awesomest community I've met, but then again I am biased since I loved books&such :)

Thanks for stopping by my place, following back and wishing you a great weekend :)

  21. Yes, I was a little unsure at first too. I mean I started my blog because it looked like NOBODY on my tumblr cared about what I actually wrote, only photos and stuff like that, so I wanted a blog that I could express myself on with hope that somebody will actually care about what I wanted to say, haha! I still don't get any comments on reviews or anything like that, but it's nice to just have it on there, I guess. Thanks for stopping by! I'm a new GFC follower :)

  27. That's so true what you stated; many people own a blog and only visit others for the sake of commenting or receiving comments from others. I totally agree with you that making blogging buddies and finding someone to share thoughts and opinions with is the most important and also a lot of fun ;)
