Here’s this week’s question: What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

Hmmmm… guilty pleasure? I love reading good detective novels, especially the ones with a sick, twisted villain and a great, perceptive protagonist. Should I feel guilty about reading them? Please don’t hesitate to recommend if you know any good ones. Thanks!

How about you?

Thank you to everyone who stopped by. And don't forget to leave your link in the comments section below so I can follow back!

  1. I'm still new to the mystery genre. I already told you about Craig Johnson and some of his bad guys are pretty twisted. Happy Friday! Old follower here. Here's my FF.

    1. I'm yet to check Craig Johnson's books out. But I'll do that when I'm done with the YA books on my TBR list! :)

Happy Friday too, and have a wonderful weekend!

  2. I love a great mystery! Have you tried Chelsea Cain's Archie/Gretchen series? We have a female serial killer who likes to play cat and mouse with the lead detective and sometimes I wonder how much torture Archie can endure.

  5. Ugh, hello fellow-crime/detective/mystery books lover!

I'd recommend James Patterson, Inger Wolf's Evil Water, and Silence of the Lambs or the Hannibal Lecter series. Truly gives me the creeps!

Let me know if you've read them :)

  7. I feel no guilt whatsoever about reading the books I enjoy! Pretty much everyone I know knows that I like my paranormal reads. Trying to convince "new people" though that my reads are not like Twilight is another matter entirely! :D

    1. Haha! Whenever I see or hear 'Paranormal', I think only of Twilight. I prefer a good YA Urban Fantasy, though.

Have a great weekend too, and thanks for stopping by! :)

  8. I like that too but my guilty pleasure is killings and action. I can't stand a book with happily ever after. It's just unreal!

    1. I love killings and actions too. Well, happily ever after does nothing but remind me I've just read a book, and I shouldn't take it too serious.

      Have a wonderful weekend! :)

  13. I don't think I've ever read a good detective novel -- I would recommend the Gretchen Lowell series by Chelsea Cain for a great portrait of a serial killer (seriously twisted!) The first book is Heartsick
